Web Publisher for Georeferenced Photos in Lightroom
Posted by Jim Keir on 13 February 2015 01:23 PM

A new product for Lightroom has been released, in a slightly different direction for lightroom-plugins.com .

The new web publisher, something we've not done before, adds a Web Gallery to Lightroom which lets you publish your photos to a website that's based on a map as well as the traditional grid layout. This makes a lot of sense if you have taken the time to georeference your photos, maybe using a GPS tracker, and want to show them off in context together.

The publisher is based around Google Maps, and it will also use Google Analytics, social networks and content-delivery networks if you choose. As ever, it's free to try so go ahead and see for yourself!

Fixed a problem after initial install of the Alamy plugin
Posted by Jim Keir on 03 February 2015 07:49 PM

That problem is now fixed, so it should install cleanly into new catalogs without asking for repairs to be done.

Duplicate Finder Updated
Posted by Jim Keir on 08 August 2012 03:55 PM

The popular Lightroom Duplicate Finder plugin was updated today, to add a simple but useful new feature. You can now choose to say that matching the Lens name is optional.

This might sound a bit odd - surely the same lens would be recorded if a photo really is a duplicate of another? Well, yes, but for some reason some programs change the name of the lens when the format of the photo is converted. For example, a DNG might say "EF17-40mm f/4L USM" while the JPG created as an export of this says "17.0-40.0 mm".
